SUPPORT NATURE.

Whilst we have been working with schools, community groups and environmentally-focused non-profit bodies since the 1970s, how that has been financed has changed greatly across those past five decades. Large-scale philanthropy and six-figure public sector contributions are no longer a reality. We operate with a more diverse set of income streams now and that includes very vital donations of time and money.

As a registered charity, The Bay Trust now relies on income from sales, grants, fees and donations to support its work with schools, community organisations and further not-for-private-profit bodies. None of this income is guaranteed and so we have to work continuously to generate what is needed to deliver our core activities.

We welcome donations of varying types – from time and skills to actual money – and so there are a range of ways in which you might help us.

did you know?

One of our wildflower planters is actually a Sir Christopher Wren – designed frontage, brought to The Pines Garden when the building (in London) it had been part of was demolished. Wren, of course, also designed St. Paul’s Cathedral!

DONATE TIME & SKILLS

We work with a small number of businesses that provide additional personnel to help with practical, and even research, projects across our site at The Pines Garden. This helps those organisations meet their corporate social responsibility needs as well as something “very different” for their staff to get involved in.

In recent years this has included work on renovating an outdoor classroom and ground preparation for reintroduction of native species to the gardens. Please get in touch here for further details.

DONATE MONEY

If you believe in our work, and want to help financially, then you may wish to know the following:

We have a new set of ambitions for work from our main site in St. Margaret’s Bay and a series of small projects planned that support delivery of this. The aim is to widen the reach of our environmental education work and make the Trust easier to engage with. More information on this is available here.
